“Shining Stars” Talent Contest Entry Rules

1.        The contest is open to amateur entertainers only– no fee to enter.

2.      Time limit for each act is 4 minutes.

3.       All contestants must provide their music on CD.

4.      Vocalists my not have taped backup vocals as accompaniment.

5.      Audio equipment, speakers, and microphone will be available to performers.  Any additional equipment must be
provided by the performer.

6.      The program is limited to 25 acts in each division.

7.      Judges will assess talent based on stage presence, technical ability, difficulty, creativity, appropriateness of selection,
and overall entertainment value.  Deductions will be made for exceeding time limits.   

8.      In the event of a tie, judges will make the final placement.

9.      Judges’ decisions are final.

10.   Pre-registration is required.

11.     Each contestant may only compete in one solo and one group act.

12.    Awards will be provided for first, second, and third place in each division. 

13.    Winners from each division are required to perform Saturday Night on the Children’s Stage. 

14.   All contestants will be given an official Alabama Pecan Festival T-shirt.

15.    Winners in each division will be announced Wednesday Night -  Awards and Placement will not be announced until Saturday Night. 

 

The Talent Contest will be held at the Tillman’s Corner Community Center at

5055 Carol Plantation Road on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
